It started with me standing in front of my wardrobe on a perfectly ordinary Monday morning, staring at clothes that no longer felt like me.

Like so many women over 50, especially those of us who are petite (5'4" and under), I was tired of the same frustrations: Trousers that dragged on the floor and needed hemming. Sleeves that swallowed my hands. Tops that swamped my frame and made me look shorter. Waistbands that pinched by mid-morning.

I was fed up with spending money on clothes that looked nice in photos but felt uncomfortable or required constant adjusting.

So I decided to do something about it.

I created Arden Street as a small, thoughtful capsule collection made specifically for petite women in their 50s, 60s and beyond.

We focus on true petite proportions — shorter rises, cropped and ankle lengths that actually finish where they should, flattering midi dresses that skim beautifully, and dungarees that are incredibly forgiving and easy to wear.

Everything is made from soft, breathable fabrics (linen, cotton blends, and soft-washed denim) that feel as comfortable as loungewear but look quietly polished for real life — the school run, coffee with friends, lunch out, or just a normal Tuesday.

We test every piece ourselves in real life. If it digs in, creases badly, or doesn’t feel right after a few hours, it doesn’t make it into the collection.
